Bible Word Study ("Scripture Studio") is a web-based Bible study application operated by BibleSoft Canada. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account or sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture (if provided by Google). We use this solely to identify your account.

Study data: Your bookmarks, notes, study content, tags, highlights, dictionary history, and other study-related data are stored securely in our database so you can access them across sessions and devices.

Usage data: We may collect basic usage information such as pages visited and features used to improve the application. We do not track you across other websites.

To save and sync your study data across sessions
To authenticate your identity when you sign in
To communicate important account-related information
To improve and develop the application

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data may be shared only in the following circumstances:

Service providers: We use Supabase for authentication and data storage, and Netlify for hosting. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.
Community features: If you use community features (posts, groups, comments), the content you share is visible to other users as described within those features.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

4. Google Account Data

Bible Word Study's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

When you sign in with Google, we access only your basic profile information (name, email, profile picture). We do not access your Google Drive, Gmail, contacts, or any other Google services. We use Google sign-in solely for authentication. Specifically:

We do not use Google user data for serving advertisements, retargeting, or interest-based advertising.
We do not sell Google user data to third parties, data brokers, or information resellers.
We do not use Google user data for credit-worthiness determination, lending, or surveillance purposes.
No human reads your Google account data unless you have given explicit consent, it is necessary for security purposes, or it is required by law.

5. Actions on Your Behalf

Bible Word Study does not take any actions on your behalf outside of the application. We do not send emails from your account, post on your behalf, or interact with any external services using your credentials. All actions within the application (saving studies, posting in community features) are initiated directly by you.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encrypted data storage and row-level security. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may delete your studies, bookmarks, and notes at any time within the application. If you wish to delete your entire account and all associated data, please contact us at the email below.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage only for authentication session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

Bible Word Study is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on our website.
